Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas is seeking a Staffing Coordinator for a night shift (7 PM – 7 AM). The role monitors scheduling activities for nurses, clerical staff and support technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels for patient care.

The ideal candidate has five years of clerical experience in a hospital or medical setting, strong communication skills, and proficiency with standard office software and ANSOS scheduling tooling.

Qualifications

• Five years of clerical experience in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
• May have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must demonstrate ability to communicate with all hospital personnel.

Responsibilities

• Identifies staffing needs for the division on a daily basis to ensure the assigned division operates effectively and efficiently.
• Monitors productivity of inpatient units and reallocates staff as needed to maintain acceptable productivity levels.
• Evaluates payroll reports and ensures accuracy of employee pay; edits and distributes bi-weekly payroll.
• Contacts employees to fill vacant shifts daily and/or weekly to ensure units are staffed appropriately.
• Maintains current productivity-based staffing requirements and updates ANSOS as required.
• Evaluates and obtains approval for overtime shifts to fill critical vacancies and maintain patient safety.
• Communicates with supervisors regarding staffing status in the division.
• Makes recommendations for reallocation and proactive planning for unit staffing.
• Trains others to perform duties to provide workload coverage.
