Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a Full-time Night Shift Staffing Coordinator to monitor and coordinate staffing for the division from 7 PM to 7 AM. The role requires five years of clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or medical setting, with strong communication and independent judgment.

You will use department software, update ANSOS, and ensure staffing levels support patient care across inpatient units.

Qualifications

• Five years of clerical experience, preferably in a hospital or medical setting.
• Ability to use independent judgment within established guidelines.
• Excellent communication with hospital personnel.
• Ability to use required department software.
• Ability to compose correspondence independently.

Responsibilities

• Identify daily staffing needs for the division to ensure efficient operation.
• Monitor inpatient unit productivity and reallocate staff as needed.
• Review payroll reports and correct discrepancies for bi-weekly payroll.
• Contact employees to fill vacant shifts daily and/or weekly.
• Maintain productivity-based staffing requirements and update ANSOS.
• Obtain approval for overtime shifts to maintain patient safety.
• Communicate staffing status with on-coming/off-going supervisors.
• Advise on reallocation and proactive unit staffing planning.
• Train others to provide coverage for workload.
