Job summary

Sovah Health Danville Pulmonology is hiring a Sleep Technician for a full-time night shift. The role involves preparing sleep testing equipment, interviewing patients, performing sleep studies, scoring results, and reporting findings to physicians.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of a Polysomnography program, and BLS certification; RPSGT is preferred with at least two years of experience.

Qualifications

• Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of a program in Polysomnography (or equivalent experience as a Polysomnographic Technician).
• Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist or equivalent.
• Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for the arrival of the patient by setting up and preparing the equipment for the ordered test.
• Interviews patients to determine sleep disorder issues and to explain testing procedures.
• Performs testing and any additional testing required for the sleep disorder that is noted.
• Scores, interprets, and reports results of sleep studies.
• Educates patients about test results, sleep disorders, community support groups, and available resources.
