Job summary

Brookwood Baptist Health in Homewood, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse to work full-time night shifts (7pm–7am) in the Surgical ICU (SICU). The RN will provide intensive care, stabilization, and complex patient management in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities include developing care plans, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring documentation accuracy and patient safety. Prior ICU or surgical ICU experience is preferred; licensure in Alabama is required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing with licensure to practice in Alabama.
• Active RN license in Alabama or multi-state license with privilege in Alabama.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; new graduates may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient care needs and develop an individualized plan of care.
• Provide evidence-based nursing care for SICU patients.
• Collaborate with physicians and the multi-disciplinary team.
• Document patient information accurately and timely.
• Demonstrate leadership as a preceptor or charge nurse as needed.
• Ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance in daily operations.
