Job summary

Brookwood Baptist Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the CVICU, working full-time three 12-hour night shifts (7pm–7am) in Homewood, Alabama. The RN provides advanced patient care in a high-acuity unit with a lower nurse-to-patient ratio and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to stabilize conditions.

Qualifications include graduation from an approved nursing program, Alabama RN license (or NLC), BLS certification, and area-specific ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing, with mandatory competencies for Baptist Health unit/department.
• Maintains current Alabama RN license or valid multi-state RN license (NLC).
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, and TNCC are required for certain areas.
• At least 1 year of experience is required unless approved at AVP level or above.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care with regular revisions.
• Respects diversity and provides patient- and family-centered care.
• Acts as patient and family advocate within the unit/department.
• Documents care and coordinates with the healthcare team to manage patient needs.
• Demonstrates nursing skills and uses unit equipment per requisite standards.
• Prioritizes patient care following Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.
• Coordinates care and delegates tasks to team members as appropriate.
• Maintains compliance with policies and participates in quality improvement activities.
