Job summary

Hydro Extrusions in Connersville, IN seeks a Night Shift Shipping Supervisor to lead a team, ensure safe, efficient shipping, and meet production goals.

You will train and coach team members, manage safety, quality, and housekeeping, and report to the Shipping Manager. Strong leadership and lean-thinking are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's preferred; high school diploma or GED minimum.
• 5 yrs supervisory experience required.
• Experience in aluminum extrusion is a plus.
• Strong focus on safety, training, and performance appraisal processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual activities including reporting and evaluations.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions prior to injury events.
• Address issues found via IFE, WOC, and observations.
• Conduct safety audits and formal observations.
• Lead daily pre-shift safety meetings and safety stand downs.
• Ensure adherence to safety rules by staff, contractors, visitors, and drivers.

Job Summary:

This position is for a Night Shift Shipping Supervisor in the Central Region at the Connersville, IN location. The purpose of the job: to maintain a safe, clean and organized plant. Lead, train, coach and develop team members to safely produce the highest possible quality products, at the lowest possible cost. To reach the companies desired goals for housekeeping, safety, quality, COTD and production goals by ensuring that the team members follow all company policies, practices and procedures to meet, and/or exceed customer expectations. This position reports to the Shipping Manager.

What you will be doing

• Oversee the administration of all daily, monthly, quarterly and annual activities, including operational reporting, team member evaluations, write ups and record keeping, quality records, payroll, employee coaching for attendance & performance.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions, prior to Injury Free Events occurring.
• Act promptly to address items discovered through IFE, WOC, and observation processes.
• Conduct regular safety audits and formal observations.
• Deliver daily pre-shift safety meetings and deliver safety stand downs as required.
• Ensure adherence of company safety rules by team members, outside contractors, visitors, and truck drivers.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience:

• Bachelors preferred, High School Diploma or GED equivalent minimum.
• 5 yrs supervisory experience.
• Experience in aluminum extrusion business a plus.
• Manage multiple objectives and deadlines, team building, conflict resolution, performance appraisal process, first aid, CPR, mobile equipment and crane training, precision measuring equipment training.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

• Manage multiple projects, team building, conflict resolution strong working knowledge of Shipping departments.
• Personal computer basics (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles.
• Excellent Problem-Solving skills, combined with Leadership skills that capitalize on bringing the best out in team members.
• Post-secondary degree preferred.
