Job summary

McLane Company in Shawnee, KS is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Assistant to manage schedules for inbound and outbound shipments and collaborate with buyers, vendors, and carriers to ensure timely, accurate deliveries. You will receive purchase orders, print pallet tags, and communicate receipts to leadership, with a focus on safety and accuracy.

The role includes a night shift Monday through Friday starting midnight, with benefits beginning after 60 days and eligibility for retirement plans

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2 or more years work experience, preferably in the distribution industry.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English at a functional level for job tasks and safety communications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain schedule of incoming & outgoing shipments.
• Receive purchase orders and print pallet tags; coordinate with buyers, vendors, and carriers.
• Communicate receipts of products to leaders in a timely manner.
• Identify and report any shipment issues or delays.
• Inspect shipments for damages and verify order accuracy.
• Label shipments prior to loading.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
