Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Assistant for the 3rd shift in Shawnee, KS. The role involves maintaining department files, assisting other departments, and coordinating with the DC to ensure orders match.

You will earn $20.00 to $21.00 per hour with benefits starting after 60 days, vacation and sick leave accrual from day one, and holidays after 90 days. Additional programs include pet insurance, tuition reimbursement, and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 2+ years work experience, preferably in distribution.
• Experience with Microsoft Office systems.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain schedule of incoming & outgoing shipments.
• Receive purchase orders, print pallet tags, and work with buyers, vendors, and carriers to ensure orders are received as scheduled.
• Communicate receipts of all products timely to appropriate leaders.
• Communicate no call, no shows, and rescheduled shipments; ensure shipments received in advance are communicated.
• Inspect shipments to ensure they are undamaged.
• Contact manager if a mistake is identified.
• Label shipments prior to loading.
• Other duties may be assigned.
