Job summary

Leer Inc. is seeking a Sheet Metal Operator for the 3rd shift. You will set up, operate, and monitor sheet metal manufacturing equipment to produce parts per blueprints, while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards with limited supervision.

You will perform first-piece inspections, verify dimensions, and complete production documentation. The role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate sheet metal equipment according to blueprint specifications, work instructions, and production requirements.
• Become proficient in the operation and basic troubleshooting of all equipment within the Sheet Metal Department.
• Perform first-piece inspections and routine quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications.
• Verify dimensions using measuring devices and inspection tools.
• Conduct preventative measurement and bend checks prior to production startup.
• Monitor machine performance and identify quality, safety, or production concerns.
• Complete required production and quality documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and other departments regarding production status and equipment issues.
• Assist in training and supporting team members.
• Adapt to changing production priorities and workload demands.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
