Job summary

Klauer Manufacturing seeks a skilled Machine Setup technician to prepare metal fabrication equipment for production. You will configure roll formers, brake presses, and shears according to blueprints and specifications.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, selecting tools and fixtures, adjusting controls, inspecting parts with gauges, and maintaining smooth workflow on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Experience reading blueprints and specifications.
• Ability to set up roll formers, brake presses, and shears according to production needs.
• Familiarity with measuring tools and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Set up and adjust metal fabricating machines to meet production requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders.
• Select, position, and secure dies, rollers, blades, and fixtures using measuring tools.
• Position and clamp stops, guides, and turntables to ensure accurate product dimensions.
• Adjust machine controls to regulate speed, dimensions, bend angles and forming pressures.
• Start machines and monitor operation, making adjustments as needed.
• Inspect parts using rulers, gauges, protractors, and templates for conformance.
• Clear jams, troubleshoot issues, and correct minor malfunctions.
• Report repair needs and dismantle setups after runs.
• Load/unload material coils and feed tables; coordinate material flow.
• Monitor inventory and enter production data into the database.
