Job summary

US Foods is seeking an experienced diesel mechanic for our New Jersey fleet. Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, and lift gates.

The role operates on the Sunday-Thursday night shift, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, with overtime optional. Competitive hourly pay from $39 to $42, plus benefits and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting ability using fleet maintenance software.
• Excellent communication skills with teamwork abilities.
• Must furnish own personal hand tools.
• EPA and OSHA regulations knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance within company standards.
• Complete repair orders, PM list, and parts accountability.
• Handle road service calls and fleet repairs as needed.
• Log repairs in the software system.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with safety rules.
• Backup to other maintenance staff.
• Willingness to assume increased responsibilities and certifications.
