Job summary

US Foods is seeking an experienced diesel mechanic for an onsite maintenance role. You will diagnose, repair and rebuild diesel equipment, perform preventive maintenance to DOT standards, and coordinate with vendors on road calls from a US Foods facility. You must supply your own tools and meet the CDL/DOT requirements.

The role is Sunday-Thursday, 9pm to 5:30am, with a pay range of $38–$40 per hour and a focus on safety, documentation, and teamwork within the fleet maintenance team.

Qualifications

• 3 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
• Independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience administering PM programs.
• Must furnish own personal hand tools.
• Ability to read and write legibly and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace and repair diesel equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
• Receive road calls and coordinate with third-party vendors and business partners.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment per safety regulations.
• Document repairs and parts used in fleet software.
• Serve as backup to other maintenance staff.
• Willing to take on more responsibilities and certs.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.
