Job summary

OSI Industries in Chicago, IL is seeking a Sanitation/General Utility for the 3rd shift at the Racine facility. This role safely operates equipment and handles chemicals to sanitize production equipment and clean the production area.

The position is on-site, full-time, and part of a union. Overtime is eligible beyond 40 hours per week; starting hourly rate is $20.35 with potential premiums for night shift and attendance; benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement through the union.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in related field is preferred.
• Excellent proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite Products.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
• Ability to read, understand and follow written specifications, blueprints, or schematics

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to sanitize production equipment and clean production area.
• Disassemble and re-assemble portions of equipment as needed.
• Apply chemicals for cleaning, degreasing, and sanitizing; use hot water wash for sterilization.
• Shovel and sweep floors, drains and sewers; collect and transport trash to compactor.
• Handle equipment and chemicals per safety data sheets and guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow GMP and safety policies.
