Job summary

Thrive Freeze Dry is hiring a Sanitation Technician for the 1st shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) in Oak Creek, WI. The role focuses on cleaning and sanitizing equipment, production areas, and facilities to meet food-safety standards and GMP requirements.

The ideal candidate can operate cleaning equipment, follow procedures, and work independently in a fast-paced food-manufacturing environment, contributing to continuous improvement and safety culture.

Qualifications

• Ability to test and monitor cleaning chemicals for proper titration strength.
• Forklift certification, or the ability to successfully obtain certification.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow operating procedures, manuals, and work instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and use measuring tools, including tape measures, feeler gauges, and micrometers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties related to the cleaning and sanitation of the facility and production equipment.
• Inspect equipment and facility conditions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company sanitation standards.
• Clean equipment and inspect working components to ensure readiness for production operations.
• Maintain work areas in a manner that prevents damage to equipment, machinery, and facility property.
• Identify and report unsanitary conditions, food safety concerns, or sanitation issues to management and production personnel.
• Clean office areas and other facility spaces requiring sanitation services.
• Recommend improvements to equipment, plant layout, lighting, or work practices to enhance sanitation effectiveness and product quality.
• Safely operate equipment for elevated cleaning activities.
• Follow all food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
