Job summary

Thrive Freeze Dry in Oak Creek, WI is hiring a full-time Sanitation Technician to maintain a clean and compliant food manufacturing environment. You will clean and sanitize equipment, production areas, and facilities while following GMP and company policies.

The role requires independence, attention to detail, ability to operate cleaning equipment and forklifts, and teamwork. Starting pay is $20.25/hour with a $1 night shift differential, and a full benefits package is provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to test and monitor cleaning chemicals for proper titration strength.
• Forklift certification, or the ability to successfully obtain certification.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain hand tools, floor scrubbers, buffers, and other sanitation equipment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow operating procedures, manuals, and work instructions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and use measuring tools, including tape measures, feeler gauges, and micrometers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties related to the cleaning and sanitation of the facility and production equipment.
• Inspect equipment and facility conditions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and company sanitation standards.
• Clean equipment and inspect working components to ensure readiness for production operations.
• Maintain work areas in a manner that prevents damage to equipment, machinery, and facility property.
• Identify and report unsanitary conditions, food safety concerns, or sanitation issues to management and production personnel.
• Clean office areas and other facility spaces requiring sanitation services.
• Recommend improvements to equipment, plant layout, lighting, or work practices to enhance sanitation effectiveness and product quality.
• Safely operate equipment for elevated cleaning activities.
• Follow all food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
