The Sanitation Technician plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and food-safe manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, production areas, offices, and facility grounds while ensuring compliance with company policies and federal and state sanitation regulations.
The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining high sanitation standards, demonstrates attention to detail, and is committed to supporting food safety and quality initiatives. This role requires the ability to work independently, follow established sanitation procedures, safely operate cleaning equipment and powered industrial vehicles, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
Ability to test and monitor cleaning chemicals for proper titration strength.
Forklift certification, or the ability to successfully obtain certification.
Ability to safely operate and maintain hand tools, floor scrubbers, buffers, and other sanitation equipment.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow operating procedures, manuals, and work instructions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and use measuring tools, including tape measures, feeler gauges, and micrometers.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and sanitation standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This position is performed in a food manufacturing environment with frequent temperature changes. Unrestricted visual and hearing abilities are required to ensure the safety of all employees. The position regularly requires lifting up to 40 pounds.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided by Thrive Freeze Dry.
