Job summary

Emerald Isle Foods LLC in Richmond, VA seeks a Sanitation employee to support cleaning and sanitizing functions in the warehouse. The role ensures a safe, hygienic environment in compliance with GMP, SSOP, and regulatory standards.

The ideal candidate has at least one year in a warehouse setting, experience with forklift or pallet jack, and comfortable working nights from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs and operate cleaning equipment is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Flexible schedule: 06:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
• At least 1 year in a warehouse environment or similar role.
• Forklift or pallet jack experience; certification preferred but not required.
• Able to count and build large orders of pallets/crates.
• Experience working in a refrigerated climate.
• Energetic, team-oriented mindset.
• Professional and respectful problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain an efficient, hygienic, and positive working environment.
• Promote health and safety in the workplace.
• Understand GMP, SSOP, and inspection regulations.
• Read chemical labels or SDS to learn proper handling.
• Clean and sanitize tools, equipment, and warehouse using various chemicals.
• Maintain cleanliness using floor cleaners and pressure washing systems.
• Operate pallet jack or forklift to move products and pallets.
• Perform general sweeping, mopping, dusting and trash removal.
• Conduct maintenance to remove scale and rust from equipment.
• Keep tools in good condition and report damage.
