Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center in Dallas is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide a range of therapeutic and diagnostic services for adults and neonates. You will perform ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, and airway care under indirect supervision according to department policies.

The role requires a respiratory care program graduate, active BLS/ACLS, Texas license, NBRC registration, and at least 6 months of experience.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• BLS, ACLS certifications required at hire.
• NRP or PALS must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Texas license to practice respiratory care in good standing.
• NBRC registration.
• Minimum 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, incentive spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures including ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs, and ECGs.
• Prepares a treatment evaluation with bedside respiratory assessment, patient interview, and chart review.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Assembles, checks, operates, and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment (airways, ventilators, analyzers, delivery devices, gas analyzers).
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance activities.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
• Uses appropriate scripting to improve patient satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

NRP or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 1 year of hire

Texas license as Respiratory Care Practitioner

Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

Minimum 6 months respiratory care experience
