Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center in Midlothian, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide a range of cardiopulmonary care. You will perform ABG analysis, PFTs and ventilator support for adults and neonates under indirect supervision of the medical director.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, current BLS/ACLS, Texas license, NBRC registration and at least 6 months of experience; NICU experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Currently licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.
• NICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen therapy and weaning, humidity therapy, IPPB, and chest physiotherapy.
• Conduct arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies and ECGs.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside respiratory assessment and chart review.
• Interpret CXR, ABG, and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Operate and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment, including ventilators and gas analyzers.
• Participate in infection control, safety and quality assurance tasks.
• Maintain and clean all cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
• Provide effective patient communication to improve satisfaction.
