Qualifikationen

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NRP and PALS must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Texas license in good standing as Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Registered by NBRC, required for practice.
• Minimum 6 months respiratory care experience; NICU experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies and ECGs.
• Prepares treatment evaluations via bedside assessment and chart review.
• Uses critical thinking to determine appropriate actions.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Sets up, checks, operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment.
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance tasks.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Utilizes patient scripting to enhance satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as required.
