Methodist Richardson Medical Center in the Dallas area is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide ABG, PFTs and ventilator support for adult and neonatal patients. You will perform respiratory assessment and oxygen therapy under medical direction.

The ideal candidate is a Texas-licensed NBRC-registered RRT with BLS; ACLS preferred. NRP/PALS must be obtained within 12 months. Night shift, 6:45 PM–7:15 AM, 12x3 schedule, new graduates invited to apply.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Texas (TMB).
NBRC credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
NRP and PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, humidity therapy, bronchial hygiene and mechanical ventilation.
Performs arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs and ECGs as prescribed.
Prepares treatment evaluations including bedside assessments and chart reviews.
Uses critical thinking to determine appropriate actions.
Interprets CXR, ABG and PFT data when reviewing patient information.
Assembles and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment and devices.
Contributes to infection control, safety and quality assurance.
Performs cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
Follows patient scripting to improve satisfaction and care quality.
