Job summary

Methodist Midlothian Medical Center in Midlothian, TX is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide ABG, PFTs, and ventilator support for adults and neonates, under supervision.

Requires graduation from an accredited program, BLS/ACLS, NRP and PALS within 1 year, Texas license, NBRC registration, and at least 6 months of experience. Night shift schedule is 7pm–7am, 36 hours weekly, Monday through Friday with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
• Current Basic Life Support certification
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification
• NRP and PALS must be obtained within 1 year of hire
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by Texas Medical Board
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance and chest physiotherapy.
• Conducts arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, PFTs and electrocardiograms per prescriptions.
• Prepares treatment evaluations based on bedside assessment and medical records.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data when reviewing patient data.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment and devices.
• Contributes to infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas.
• Adheres to patient scripting to improve satisfaction.
• Performs other job duties as required
