Southern Illinois Healthcare is seeking an RN for night shift weekends at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, full-time. The role requires an Illinois RN license, CPR/BLS, ACLS within 6 months, and various unit-specific certifications.

You will assess patients, provide holistic care, educate families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include documentation, patient advocacy, and potential float to other SIH units within your competency.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• CPR/BLS card.
• ACLS card within 6 months of hire.
• TNCC or TNS within 1 year of hire.
• ECRN within 24 months of hire.
• NRP and PALS within 6 months of hire.
• Fetal Monitoring knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate a patient care plan with the health care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote optimal health.
• Use clinical judgment with critical thinking to recognize changes in patient condition.
• Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records.
• Contribute to policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care.
• Supervision and delegation of licensed practical nurses and/or unlicensed personnel.
• Advocate for the patient by communicating with other health professionals.
• Timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level.
