Job summary

ChristianaCare seeks a Registered Nurse for the Wilmington 6 South Stepdown Unit (6SS) to work 36 hours per week on the night shift, 7p-7a. Weekends and holidays follow department guidelines. A $20,000 sign-on bonus may be paid over 24 months.

You will care for 3–4 medical/surgical patients per shift, collaborate with hospitalists and consultants, and support patients and families with education and compassionate care. The role emphasizes relationship-based care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• BSN is required.
• 2 years RN experience; telemetry experience preferred.
• BLS required.
• ACLS preferred; ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Progressive Care or Gerontology Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with hospitalists, specialty consultants and the transitional nursing staff.
• Assess patients' physical and emotional status, health history and education.
• Engage in relationship-based care with patients and families.
• Manage a team of 3–4 patients per shift and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
• Plan nursing care to promote wellness and provide education to patients and families.
