Job summary

Hartford Hospital's Bliss 11 Step Down unit is seeking a registered nurse to join the team for permanent night shifts (36 hours per week). Working under the Nurse Manager, you will provide patient-centered care on a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary team, applying evidence-based practice to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families.

The unit cares for complex medical patients with critical thinking, strong communication and clinical skills.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License prior to Orientation.
• BSN degree required for this role.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required prior to Orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process to meet physical, emotional, spiritual and educational needs of patients and families.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to plan and implement care for Bliss 11 Step Down patients.
• Monitor, assess and document patient status; respond to changes in condition.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, discharge instructions and follow-up care.
