Job summary

Laredo Medical Center in Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Skilled Nursing Unit Nights to deliver patient-centered care in a hospital setting.

The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, coordinate with physicians and the care team, and ensure safety and quality in accordance with clinical protocols and orders.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in a clinical nursing role or student clinical rotations in an acute care setting.
• RN licensure required (state licensure or compact)
• BCLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS preferred
• NRP preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care using the nursing process.
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects.
• Collaborate with physicians and the care team to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and post-discharge care.
• Perform and document assessments, vital signs, and safety checks.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in life-saving interventions when needed.
• Telemetry responsibilities include monitoring heart rhythms and reporting abnormalities.
