Job summary

AdventHealth in DeLand, FL is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to perform comprehensive clinical assessments and develop individualized care plans for patients in the Emergency/acute care setting. You will coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team and educate patients and families on diagnoses and treatments.

The role requires an active RN license, 1+ year hospital experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• RN license required with Associate's Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of acute hospital experience; 12-lead EKG experience required.
• Proficient in high-level abstract reasoning, multitasking, and decision-making under pressure.
• Must be fluent in English (spoken and written) and able to communicate with patients and families.
• Proficient in using Windows-based computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive clinical assessments of patients' physical, mental, and emotional health.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessments.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care among physicians, nurses, social workers, and therapists.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses and treatment options.
• Administer medications and treatments safely per protocols.
• Supervise nursing and support staff; ensure adherence to standards.
• Coordinate discharge planning for smooth transitions home or to another facility.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and address issues affecting care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
