Job summary

WellSpan Health in Chambersburg, PA is seeking a Unit Secretary and Nursing Attendant for the Short Term Observation Unit. The role supports a 13-bed unit with night shifts (7pm–7am) and 0.9 FTE (72 hours biweekly).

Primary duties include clerical tasks, chart maintenance, and assisting the nursing team. The incumbent will transcribe orders in Epic, coordinate communications at the nursing station, and participate in patient care activities under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service and with office computers.
• Prior clerical experience in health care preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Remain calm and proficient during emergencies.
• Transcribe physician orders and input into Epic as directed.
• Assist in orientation of new unit staff and maintain patient charts.
• Maintain patient assignment boards and coordinate unit activities.
• Float to other Patient Services areas as needed.
