Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Rhode Island Hospital unit. You will implement, supervise, and evaluate nursing care across the patient lifecycle from admission to discharge, with attention to aging, development, and cultural factors.

Responsibilities include direct patient care, leadership delegation, and discharge planning collaboration with families and the care team. Night shift, every other weekend and holidays; BLS/ACLS/PALS as required; Rhode Island

Qualifications

• Rhode Island RN licensure is required.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred; current RI license required to practice.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Provides leadership by delegating, supervising and participating in safe nursing care activities.
• Evaluates effectiveness of patient care and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team, patient, family and community services regarding patient care outcomes and discharge planning.
• Assesses and provides teaching based on patient and family needs.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and research activities.
• Uses resources to provide quality, cost-effective patient care.
• Maintains clinical competencies via credentialing standards, education, and BLS/ACLS/PALS as appropriate.
• Serves as role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as delegated.
