RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced RN for the Rapid Decision Unit in the Emergency Department at RWJ Somerset. The role is night shift, 36 hours per week, with pay range $46.90–$63.44 per hour in New Jersey.

Active NJ RN license, BLS and ACLS are required, ADN is mandatory with BSN preferred, and EPIC EMR experience is highly valued. You will perform comprehensive assessments, administer evidence‑based care, collaborate with physicians and staff, educate patients and families, and

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required.
• At least 1 year acute care experience preferred.
• ADN required; BSN strongly preferred; EMR experience with EPIC.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening early.
• Administer medications and provide hands‑on care grounded in evidence‑based practice.
• Collaborate with physicians and providers to support timely, well‑coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families to ensure understanding and readiness for next care steps.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record to promote continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to drive effective communication and transitions of care.
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture focused on safety and outcomes.
• Pursue ongoing professional growth through education and clinical ladder opportunities.
