Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Rapid Decision Unit in the Emergency Department at RWJ Somerset in Somerville, New Jersey. The position is part-time with a day shift (7am-7:30pm) and requires 36 hours per week, providing frontline patient care in a high-acuity ED setting.

The ideal candidate holds an active NJ RN license, BLS, ACLS, and 1 year of acute care experience, with ADN required and BSN strongly preferred.

Qualifications

Active New Jersey registered nurse license in good standing.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
ACLS certification required.
At least 1 year of acute care experience preferred.
Experience with EMR systems like EPIC is preferred.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.
Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
Serve as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers for timely care decisions.
Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the EMR to promote continuity of care.
Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds and collaborative transitions of care.
Support ongoing professional growth and a culture of safety and improvement.
