Job summary

Pardee UNC Health Care in North Carolina seeks a Clinical Nurse to coordinate and deliver patient care using the nursing process in an inpatient hospital setting. The role reports to Nurse Manager/Director and is based in Psychiatry with 36 hours per week, night shift, onsite.

Responsibilities include administering care under physician direction, documenting plans and patient responses, and collaborating with the care team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina or a compact state by the day of clinical care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification may be required prior to performing clinical care.

Responsibilities

• Administers patient care under the direction of a physician.
• Reports and records the plan for care, nursing care given, and the patient’s response to that care.
• Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies and procedures.
• Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient/family needs.
• Collaborates with peers in a clinical operations environment, including fostering intra/interdepartmental communication.
• Synthesizes data from complex situations to determine priorities for care, including appropriate physical, psychosocial, education and safety needs.
• Communicates with patient/family to prepare or update the plan of care using cultural competency and active listening.
• Develops clinical and operational excellence in self and in peers through education and training.
• Promotes a safe, clean and secure hospital environment for all, including infection control.
• Ensures competency in all required skills and completes competency assessment annually.
