Job summary

UNC Health, Pardee UNC Health Care in the Operating Room, is seeking a Clinical Nurse for night shift. The role coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process in an inpatient setting. This full-time position reports to the Nurse Manager/Director and involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary care team.

Requirements include NC (or compact) RN licensure and BLS; ACLS may be required for some units. Preferred detail: one year of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or a compact state by the day of clinical care.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Administers patient care under the direction of a physician and collaborates with the care team to achieve expected outcomes.
• Reports and records the plan for care, nursing care given, and patient responses.
• Provides competent nursing care in line with policies and procedures.
• Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient/family needs and communicates discharge planning as needed.
• Collaborates with peers in a clinical operations environment to improve care.
• Synthesizes data to determine priorities and assesses discharge needs for patients and families.
• Communicates with patients and families to update the care plan with cultural sensitivity.
• Supports clinical and operational excellence through ongoing education and training.
• Promotes a safe, clean hospital environment following infection control principles.
