Job summary

Butler Hospital in Rhode Island is seeking a Staff Nurse for the night shift. A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is offered, with half paid at 6 months and the remainder at 12 months of employment.

You will provide direct patient care in line with ANA Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing standards, Butler policies, and the RI Nurse Practice Act. Night shift coverage and teamwork with psychiatry clinicians are expected, along with discharge planning when applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• BSN preferred.
• Current RI nursing license.

Responsibilities

• Participates in treatment planning to coordinate management of medical and nursing care and discharge planning of their patients.
• Coordinates Psychiatric and/or Medical emergencies in such a manner that assures that the individual in crisis is properly cared for and that all other patients are safe.
• Participates as an active team member by assisting other staff and accepting additional assignments to complete essential patient care and unit responsibilities.
• Administers medications with knowledge of action, mode of administration, side effects, and contraindications.
• Assumes role of Charge Nurse for the shift.

Education

Graduate of accredited school of nursing

BSN preferred
