Job summary

UPMC Carlisle is seeking a Professional Staff Nurse (RN) for the 2nd Floor Acute Cardiac & Neuro unit in Carlisle. This full-time night-shift role (7pm–7am) offers a shift differential and a 24-bed unit with no on-call responsibilities.

The position includes every other weekend and holiday, opportunities for mentorship, and a strong commitment to professional growth. UPMC supports nurses with sign-on bonuses and loan repayment options, plus PTO and tuition reimbursement programs.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains productive working relationships internally and externally by demonstrating accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation and commitment to patients and colleagues.
• Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles (and/or teaching children if applicable) and applies in teaching of patients, families, students and new staff. Provides detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them through the episode of care as well as transition to another level of care and/or home.
• Applies the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment. Forms daily goals and a plan of care considering patient needs and collaborates with the care team.
