Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health's Jersey City Medical Center is seeking a part-time RN for Surgical Unit I (6W), Night shift 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., with weekend rotation.

You will perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer medications, document in EPIC, collaborate with physicians, educate families, and participate in rounds.

NJ RN license active, BLS/ACLS within 6 months, BSN preferred; prior ortho/neuro/spine experience is valued; compensation reflects hourly wage range in NJ.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license with good standing; BLS and ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
• BSN strongly preferred; prior ortho/neuro/spine experience valued.
• EMR experience (EPIC) and strong documentation skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and provide hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for timely care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly to support understanding and next steps.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity and safety.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds to improve communication and transitions of care.
