Job summary

Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Med/Surg Observation Unit. This 24-bed telemetry unit handles chest pain, syncope, heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes with a 4–6 patient nurse-to-patient ratio depending on acuity.

Orientation spans 6–8 weeks with a dedicated preceptor and a nurse residency program for new graduates. The RN essential functions cover patient assessment, diagnoses, care coordination, evaluation, and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Diploma or ADN required; BSN or MSN preferred.
• Previous hospital experience helpful or preferred.
• Oklahoma RN license and BLS certification required; maintain BLS through employment.

Responsibilities

• Assessment/reassessment of patient care needs across age groups.
• Nursing diagnosis and outcomes planning.
• Implementation and coordination of care using evidence-based practice.
• Evaluation of patient outcomes and discharge planning.
• Manage discharge needs and resources as part of care plan.
