Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is seeking a registered nurse for the MedSurg/Telemetry 5th Floor. The Clinical Staff Nurse will provide 12-hour night coverage, managing patient care using the Watson Model and SBAR handoffs.

Responsibilities include assessment, care planning, and discharge coordination to ensure positive patient outcomes. The role requires California RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and experience in Med/Surg/Telemetry; bilingual skills (Spanish) are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Nursing degree preferred or equivalent.
• Current California Nursing license
• Internal MLKCH Versant Nurse Residency program consideration for internal candidates.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates nursing process to assess and plan care.
• Prioritizes and coordinates patient care using IPOC and SBAR.
• Provides age-appropriate care and applies current literature and critical thinking.
• Maintains patient safety and participates in quality improvement.
• Coordinates discharge planning with care managers.
• Reviews orders and communicates significant changes to physicians.
