Job summary

Trinity Health Ann Arbor's 5 North Medicine unit seeks a registered nurse for the 12-hour night shift. The 34-bed unit supports medical observation, stroke and general medicine patients with telemetry and an interdisciplinary, patient-centered care model.

Responsibilities include patient data gathering, creating and updating care plans, patient education, and ensuring HIPAA compliance. BSN preferred; MI RN license, BLS; ACLS for certain departments; Canadian nurses welcome.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of nursing that enables NCLEX eligibility; BSN preferred.
• Current State of Michigan RN License.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS required for Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency.
• Canadian RNs encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information.
• Develops, implements, evaluates and revises an individualized plan of care.
• Uses teach back methodology to educate patient and family.
• Actively seeks to prevent potential hospital acquired conditions.
• Effectively communicates patient status, priority goals and interventions during consultations, rounds and handoffs.
• Follows all HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Behaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals.
