Job summary

Covenant Living is seeking a Registered Nurse for our skilled nursing, memory care, and assisted living units in a faith-based community. You will provide direct patient care, supervise LPNs and CNAs, and ensure high nursing standards in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license in the state, has at least 1 year of nursing experience, and demonstrates compassion, patience, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State.
• One year nursing experience necessary.
• Devotion to standards and principles of professional nursing.
• Skill in assessing problems, planning and evaluating solutions in relation to supervision of staff.
• Understanding, patience and tact in dealing with people.
• Must be tactful and possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal, English).
• Genuine compassion for senior adults and the disabled.
• Requires good human relations skills and the ability to monitor and direct activities of others.
• Availability to work beyond normal hours and on weekends/holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine daily direction and monitor the work of LPNs and nursing assistants.
• Assist in orientation of new nursing personnel and reinforce training standards.
• Assist in motivating LPNs and CNAs assigned to the unit.
• Provide explanation of nursing procedures and training to staff.
• Communicate with Director of Nursing about assessments and concerns.
• Observe and evaluate residents' health and communicate changes.
• Notify physician and family as needed.
