Job summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) at Good Samaritan is responsible for applying the nursing process to deliver individualized care and coordinate with residents, families, and inter-disciplinary teams. The role may include charge nurse duties and delegation of tasks to staff, ensuring care aligns with professional standards and state regulations.

Must maintain competencies and certifications; licensure requirements apply, with a preference for accredited programs and a BSN.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program; CCNE/ACEN/NLN CNEA preferred.
• Current unencumbered RN license in state of practice; multi-state licensure if NLC.
• Obtains and maintains required department competencies and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate care with residents, families, and inter-disciplinary colleagues throughout the care plan.
• Possibly serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to license and unlicensed staff.
• Ensure safe, compliant nursing practice per Nurse Practice Act and state regulations.
