Beacon Health System is seeking a part-time, night-shift Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse for the Medical Neuro Stroke Unit at Elkhart General Hospital in Elkhart, IN.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Indiana RN license current.
• NIHSS certification required after starting.
• Candidate must obtain BSN within five years or be certified in specialty.
• Hospital case management and patient care experience on a Neuro/Stroke unit is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely perform high-risk nursing procedures per standards.
• Assess patient needs and initiate/adjust individualized plans of care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of assessments and outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff for quality care.
• Prioritize care based on acuity and resource availability.
• Communicate effectively with the care team to ensure positive outcomes.
• Delegate tasks appropriately while maintaining accountability.
