Talented Medical Solutions in San Luis Obispo, CA, is seeking a Nurse Lead for Labor and Delivery on a contract basis. Night Shift, 3 x 12s (1800 - 0630) with no set schedule and rotating shifts. Requires RN license in CA, BLS, NRP, ACLS, and documented supervisor experience.

The role provides unit-based leadership, coordinating with the Nurse Manager, Director, and physicians to ensure high-quality, safe patient care and staff development. Strong emphasis on patient satisfaction and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Five years' technical experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required.
• AHA-BLS required; CPR/BLS certifications preferred.
• AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS required.
• AHA-NRP or ARC-NALS required.
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) required.

Responsibilities

• Provides unit-based leadership in the development and provision of clinical services.
• Supervises and directs unit personnel.
• Initiates and coordinates conferences with health team members, patients, and/or families to revise care plans.
• Directs and monitors personnel to ensure adequate patient care and quality of work.
• Performs ongoing patient care as needed.
• Fosters patient and family-centered care with attention to cultural diversity.
• Makes rounds and introduces self to patients and families.
• Collects feedback on quality of nursing services and other concerns.
• Develops strategies to improve customer satisfaction for patients and physicians.
• Ensures compliance with safety goals and hospital policies.
• Collaborates to improve department operations and patient care processes.
• Assesses staffing requirements and coordinates schedules and workload.
