Job summary

Texas Health HEB is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Labor and Delivery unit in Bedford, TX. This PRN III nights per diem role requires a valid RN license, an associate degree or nursing diploma, and BCLS/ACLS/NRP/NRPA/CPI certifications within stated timeframes.

Prior L&D RN experience is strongly preferred; BSN is a plus. The position covers night shifts, with minimum shift expectations and holiday requirements, in a Level III NICU environment with a 9-bed L&D and 4-bed OB ED.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required
• RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
• BCLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
• ACLS within 90 days of hire
• NRP within 90 days of hire
• NRPA within 90 days of hire
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire
• 1 Year experience as a Registered Nurse required
• 1 year of RN experience in L&D strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers
