Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an experienced RN for the Intermediate Care Unit (Medical Unit V) at our New Brunswick main hospital. This part-time night role focuses on patient assessment, safe medication administration, and collaborative care delivery.

You will work in a 31-bed IMCU, providing close monitoring for adults with complex medical needs, and participate in rounds, education, and documentation to support safe transitions and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
• 1 year of acute care RN experience required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred or must be completed within 5 years of hire.
• National Board Certification and ACLS preferred or required within 6 months of employment.
• Prior 2-3 years of acute care RN experience preferred, with EMR familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor for clinical changes.
• Administer safe, evidence-based medications and treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families clearly and compassionately.
• Document accurately in the EMR to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and support seamless transitions of care.
• Contribute to a collaborative team with shared accountability and ongoing professional growth.
