Job summary
Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services seeks a Registered Nurse II for night shifts at the Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute in Danville, VA. You will provide advanced nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders and support patient recovery as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications
- Experience working as a Registered Nurse in a psychiatric/behavioral health setting.
- Current and in good standing RN license to practice in Virginia, or license eligible; multi-state compact accepted.
- Valid driver's license required and must remain in good standing.
- Knowledge of nursing theory and psychiatric nursing.
- Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation/recovery models.
- Ability to delegate, supervise, and evaluate nursing processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced nursing care for patients with psychiatric disorders.
- Safely implement seclusion/restraints following policy and safety guidelines.
- Work night shift (7:00 pm – 7:30 am) with 12-hour shifts; overtime and weekends may be required.
- Participate in orientation and training as scheduled by Nurse Educator.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and well-being.
