Qualifications

• Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• BLS certification required on hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification 30 days upon hire and maintained.
• One year of supervisor experience preferred.
• Three years acute care nursing experience minimum.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assumes administrative responsibility for management of all department service functions on shift.
• Makes frequent rounds to monitor care delivery and direct patient care activities as needed.
• Supervises and communicates with staff hospital-wide; extends to all services when administrator absent.
• Ensures efficient operations and patient flow throughout the hospital.
• Performs direct patient care only as needed within scope of practice.
• Ensures temporary agency staff are deployed and oriented per policy.
• Assists with scheduling after-hours procedures and standby staff.
• Enhances patient/family experience through supportive interactions and explanations of policies.
