Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the High Risk Perinatal Unit. This role will be full-time night shift. Inova is a national leader in safety, quality and patient experience, offering competitive benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

The RN provides knowledgeable clinical practice and coordination of care within a collaborative team. Education requirements include a BSN and Virginia RN licensure, with BLS and specialty certifications

Qualifications

• BSN required; if ADN, BSN must be completed within 5 years of start date.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in acute care.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required at start; ACLS within 6 months for CCU; PALS within 6 months for pediatric units.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations.
• Conducts all patient care in a patient- and family-centered manner with multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Advocates for patients' rights and counsels while resolving issues as a resource.
• Coordinates healthcare and services for patient/family transition planning.
• Documents all patient care activities and supports documentation standards.
• Evaluates processes to achieve outcomes and revises plans as needed.
• Makes clinical decisions and promotes development of clinical decision-making among staff.
• Communicates effectively and respects other clinical disciplines.
• Provides guidance as a clinical resource, preceptor, and mentor.
• Utilizes standards and pathways to deliver care and ensures integrated delivery.
