Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the Behavioral Health - Geri Psychiatric unit at UAB St. Vincent's East.

The role provides direct patient care on a 7:00 pm to 7:00 am schedule across three 12-hour night shifts, supporting adult and geriatric patients with acute care needs in a team-based setting. Required are a nursing diploma and Alabama RN licensure, with BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire. (American Heart Association or Red Cross accepted)
• Alabama Board of Nursing-eligible RN license required before hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and active licensure required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to behavioral health patients per facility policies.
• Perform initial and ongoing bio-psychosocial assessments and develop care plans.
• Participate in treatment team conferences to plan and revise goals and interventions.
• Lead or co-lead group therapy sessions and evaluate patient responses to interventions.
