Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse Float for the CDH Resource Team on nights. This full-time role involves bedside nursing for acutely ill patients, coordinating care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team within the Northwestern Medicine system.

The position requires a BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years, IL RN license, Basic Life Support, and strong interpersonal and analytic skills.

Qualifications

• Must obtain BSN within three years of employment.
• Current IL Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Analytical abilities to assess and plan care.
• ER requires ACLS; PALS/ENPC & TNCC within one year.
• Pediatric ER requires Pediatric Life Support and TNCC within one year.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care.
• Direct care and supervise any assistants involved in care.
• Document outcomes and communicate plans across teams.
• Participate in governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Utilize evidence and research to guide practice.
